My New Go-to Massage in JB!! (Near Customs)

I might’ve found my favourite massage place after trying out so many!!!

This place was actually mentioned by my sister — not exactly a recommendation, but more of a casual mention. What first caught my attention was the location as it’s right at Zenith (the HDL mall), opposite JBCC!

I usually travel out for massages, like to KSL or Bangkok Spa, which is fine if I already have things to do / eat nearby. But let’s be real — the struggle to get a Grab on weekends, plus the jam when heading back, can be such a pain. Sometimes, I just want to stay around the customs area!

I had a 2D1N staycay across the border over the weekend where the first part was spent with my gfs, and we ended the day at Zenith’s HDL. My husband joined me after, and since I didn’t want to travel out after a long day, we booked our accommodation near the customs too! What better chance to try the massage? 🤭

(It was so good we went again the next day 🥹)

The place is just opposite HDL, so you definitely wouldn’t miss it. It has a small reception area, and service was great!! It didn’t feel rushed like many other places, where multiple staff are scrambling at the counter. We made a reservation which I highly recommend you do too! I thought it wouldn’t be that popular, but there was actually a steady stream of customers.

As usual, you’ll change out your shoes and head to the foot wash area. The area was big and beautiful, and clean! Then we were brought to a private room just for the two of us. We went for the Thai Traditional Massage, and at reception, they gave us a form to mark areas to focus on or avoid. I really appreciated that, since I have a few sensitive spots (like my neck), and this meant I didn’t have to communicate it during the session and I can just relax all the way! I’m always scared to ask for softer pressure because I don’t want to offend them LOL… people-pleaser thingssss 😭

Idk about you, but I always feel like different places (and even the same brand) have slightly different techniques?? My usual is Bangkok Spa, and even though I always book the same service and duration, every session feels different 😂 But the technique here was really good, I can’t even describe it properly HAHA but both my husband and I agreed it was better than most others we’ve tried!!!

On the form, there was also a section to indicate any conditions (Can’t remember the options, only remember migraine being one of them). I get frequent migraines but not sure if that helped or anything, but I guess it’s so the masseuse can focus on certain acupoints. Our masseuses were Bambam and Momo; they were so cute and really nice hahaha. You can request for them next time!

Overall, we had such a pleasant experience that we had to go back the next day!! This time we did a foot massage (my fave 🤭). The setup was similar to big chains, with theatre-style reclining sofas with a projector screen — but what surprised us was the starry ceiling! It was super nice irl!!

This might just be the only place I’ll go to for future massage fixes. The price is slightly higher, but for the convenience, quality, and service, it’s totally worth it. I can totally see myself crossing the border on a random weekday noon, heading straight to Zenith for a massage, and going home right after, all without needing a Grab! ✌🏼

(Btw, is tipping at massage places the norm for you guys? I always do, but I’m curious if it’s the same for you!)

First, booking ahead is essential. I noticed the place stays busy even on weekdays, and having your slot secured means no waiting around. The staff are accommodating and friendly, and you can select your preferred masseuse if you wish — I highly recommend asking for Bambam or Momo, who provided a really customized and attentive massage. The environment is clean and thoughtfully designed. The foot wash area is spacious, and the private rooms ensure a comfortable experience—especially when paired with personalized forms to highlight sensitive areas and specific conditions like migraines. This approach allowed me to completely relax without having to constantly communicate during the session. If you enjoy foot massages, don’t miss trying their foot massage with reclining theatre-style sofas and a surprisingly beautiful starry ceiling that adds to the pampering atmosphere. The pricing might be slightly above some other local spots, but considering the expert techniques and convenience, it’s definitely worth it. For those wondering about tipping culture here, I usually tip a little extra as appreciation, but it’s always up to your discretion. Overall, this spot offers a fantastic balance of location, quality, and service—ideal for anyone looking to avoid long Grab rides or weekend traffic hassles at JB customs. Whether you're a local or crossing from Singapore, this massage place at Zenith Lifestyle Centre is a hidden gem that deserves to be on your list when needing some relaxation and rejuvenation.
