Garden trellis ideas

There’s ALOT of ways to trellis but here’s 4. Bamboo for some reason is expensive😑 even though it’s super invasive and you can NEVER get rid of it so you can have sooooo many bamboo stakes if you wanted (i have a bamboo forest that’s been there since I was a kid) I have a cattle panel trellis and a net trellis. I do plan on doing small bamboo trellises this year and see how it works out. Good luck gardening! 🧑‍🌾

Bamboo trellises, while seemingly costly if purchased, can often be made for free if you access homegrown bamboo, which I found invaluable since bamboo is fast-growing and durable. The main challenge is its invasive nature, so harvesting responsibly is key. Cattle panel trellises offer excellent sturdy support for heavier climbing plants like beans, peas, or squash. I appreciated that the materials are relatively affordable, with a total cost around $50 including posts. Additionally, net trellises provide flexibility for various plant types and are lightweight and easy to install. A net trellis measuring 5x15 feet typically costs about $7 for the net and roughly $10 for supporting posts, making it a budget-friendly option for smaller gardens. Arch trellises can elevate the visual appeal of garden entrances or pathways. Though they might be pricier, investing in an 18-inch arch from online retailers, such as Amazon, can add a charming focal point for flowering vines like clematis or morning glories. When planning your trellis setup, consider the plant species you intend to support, the space available, and your budget. Combining different trellis types can optimize space and variety in your garden. Overall, using a mix of these trellis ideas can make your gardening not only more productive but also creatively fulfilling. Hands-on experimentation with smaller bamboo trellises this season will help refine techniques and results. Happy gardening!
