In the morning, the kettle sounded small.
Like between winter and spring, the unreliable steam drifts in the kitchen, and I look at it for a while. There are so many things to do today, but only my body is still in the futon. I make excuses to myself that there are days like that.
When I was young, I thought that it was to live well to fill in the schedule. I was so relieved that my notebook turned black, and when I saw the blank, I became anxious. But now, I feel that there is breathing in that white place. I finally understood that the margin was not a snoop, but a "saucer."
Yesterday, I received a short message from a friend asking, "How are you doing these days?" Even though it wasn't a special consultation, my heart felt a little warm. Someone's words are light like a blanket, but they have a proper body temperature. I wonder if I can give such words to someone.
When I water the potted plants on the balcony, the soil slowly changes color. Change is always quiet. People feel the same way, and small habits take me further than big decisions. Just a sip of coffee and a little opening of the window will start today.
A perfect day does not come easily. However, failed laundry, burnt egg rolls, and missed thank you are all my life. As much as I couldn't do it well, I can be kind to someone's clumsiness.
In the evening, the kettle crows again.
With that sound as a signal, I once again start walking the continuation of today. I don't need a big answer. A small "whatever" becomes a bridge to tomorrow.
