"If you turn 41 times, you should wake up 42 times."
From these words, a song was born.
While facing terminal cancer, "Yoppi" continues anti-cancer drug treatment many times.
One day, he posted these words on Facebook.
Anticancer drug treatment, 41st.
Sometimes it gets better, sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes I say, "It's getting worse!."
If it rotates 41 times, it might happen 42 times.
Each time may be a cause for recovery.
Once again today without change.
One stickiness.
This word has always stayed in my heart.
I felt that there was something here that cannot be expressed simply by saying "do your best."
Fighting illness is not always about being positive.
There are days when it gets better.
Some days get worse.
There are days to cry, there are days to stop.
Still, get up only once more.
The accumulation of those "once" may be what it means to live.
I wrote the lyrics from that thought.
This part is especially important.
Even if you fall forty-one times
It's okay to wake up 42 times
That one time is piling up
Support me tomorrow
And then.
Even if you cry, yeah
Even if it stops, yeah
yet again
to extend one's hand
You don't have to be strong.
You can stop.
But when the day comes when I can reach out my hand again, just one more time.
I wanted to make such a song.
After that, I wrote English lyrics to make it easier to put on the rhythm of guitar picking, and at first
"One More Time"
I gave it the title.
And the finished song,
『 Yoppi, Still Fighting 』
yoppy, we're still fighting.
It is.
Yoppi himself liked this song and played it at the lecture the other day.
The song I wrote is playing in front of the person who is actually facing the illness.
That time became unforgettable for me too.
It is not easy to say that music has the power to cure diseases.
However, it may be a trigger to raise your face a little on a tough day,
"Let's try one more time."
I might be able to become a small power that seems like it.
This song was made for Yoppi.
But now, it's not just people who are dealing with cancer,
Illness, care, work, relationships...
I want to reach people who are still living today, thinking that it may be impossible in each place.
If it rotates 41 times, it might happen 42 times.
Once again today without change.
One stickiness.
May that small moment become someone's "power to live."
