Yes! I did this with some distant relatives and old "friends". We moved out of State and even 1000+ miles away, they were still wagging their tongues. I cut all of them off, blocked them on all my social media accounts, got a new phone number and when they came looking to find me on other social media platforms, I deleted the request and blocked their messages. When my husband became disabled, and forced to resign, 30 days later we list our insurance. He was so bad that could not cognitively function much. I took the savings and paid for doctors visits, medical equipment and bills. But the money ran out. We lost everything we had including the car. All we had was a bag of clothes for each of us and a few pictures. For almost 2 years we were homeless living off his small retirement check that barely covered our room rent and food. Not one of them called, texted or sent messages asking how we were. The ones that we bought groceries for, sent money to when they were down, said a word or anything. But they tagged their tongues talking about things they know nothing about. So, when I was done, I was good and done. Some think I am a bad person for that, but I don't think so. My peace is worth it. There are some bridges that you not only need to burn, but some of them, you need to blow up and watch it burn.
