A bit about me!
1. I'm bald. I tell my students that I had a headful of beautiful hair until I started teaching them, and it's their fault.
2. When I was six, I decided to play tag in the street, barefoot, and I was ran over by someone related to me in a car (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) I had to get a skin graft from my thigh, and I couldn't walk for forty days. BUT everyone felt so bad for me that I got almost every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toy there was. So, it was worth it.
3. My favorite movies are The Lord of the Rings, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and the Rocky movies.
4. My favorite books are Red Rising, Ender's Game, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Jurassic Park.
5. My favorite video games are Zelda, Starcraft, Final Fantasy VII, and the Mass Effect trilogy.
6. I HATE onions. People think I'm a picky eater, I'm really not (I've eaten scorpion), but because onions are in EVERYTHING, people think I'm picky!
7. My favorite foods are pizza, cheeseburgers, Mexican food, crawfish boils, and fried calamari.
8. When I was in high school, a fellow student heard me read from my story and told me, "You are a good writer. You should write a book." He has no idea what his little words of kindness did for me.
9. I tried to build a treehouse in my backyard. I didn't know what I was doing. I thought girls would find me cool. I did make the "tree house," but no girls ever found me cool.
10. My favorite TV shows are X-Files, Futurama, Star Trek: Voyager, and Frasier.
11. I put away five books before I wrote SKY'S END. Saying goodbye to each of them was really tough, but no one wanted them. Those characters will always be with me.
12. I found out SKY'S END got a publishing offer while I was teaching. I started crying, and my students thought someone said something mean to me. When I told them what happened, they exploded with cheers and claps.
