Food We Ate at Lao Pa Sat
It’s been a while since I last had a spread of food at lao pa sat from satay to Hokkien mee to wanton noodle. Plus there’s screen to watch the fifa match. #laopasat #foodLau Pa Sat
Lau Pa Sat is a unique hawker centre in Singapore that offers not only a wide variety of local dishes but also a lively atmosphere, especially during major sporting events like the FIFA season. When I visited, I was drawn to the famous satay stalls where pork, beef, and chicken satays are grilled to perfection and served with a rich, flavorful peanut sauce that truly elevates the taste. What stood out was the Hokkien mee, served with a splash of squeezed lime that enhances its flavors with a refreshing citrus twist. It's best enjoyed without making it too watery to keep the authentic taste intact. The wanton noodles, paired with a sauce that deviates from the usual mayonnaise base, added an extra layer of deliciousness - the sauce was a delightful surprise that intensified the 'shiokness' or satisfaction one feels when enjoying great food. Besides these, the black carrot cake was on the sweeter side for my liking, but it’s a popular treat to try. I also appreciated the fried wantons, which were well-crisped and complemented the fresh toppings perfectly. One of the best things about dining at Lau Pa Sat is the communal feel, especially when there’s a large screen airing exciting FIFA matches. Watching the game while enjoying street food creates a memorable social dining experience. The hawker center's blend of great food and atmosphere makes it a fantastic spot for locals and tourists alike looking to indulge in authentic Singaporean cuisine while catching live sports. If you haven’t been to Lau Pa Sat during a FIFA match, I highly recommend it for a night of flavorful food and vibrant energy. Plus, with the variety of dishes to try—from satay to wanton noodles—there’s something for every palate.
