Ever tried ai meeting note taker apps? Here’s my ranking after testing a few.

Most of them just give you transcripts… but one actually turns them into usable notes.

Spoiler: Risenote is a game-changer. What’s your go-to? #meetingapps #ainotetaker #userisenote #risenote

4/25 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so like many of you, my days are packed with meetings. And let's be real, remembering every detail and action item is practically impossible without a good note-taking system. I used to scramble, trying to type everything or just relying on my memory, which, let's just say, wasn't always reliable! That’s why I dove headfirst into the world of AI meeting note takers, hoping to find a true game-changer. My goal wasn't just a transcript; I needed actionable insights and summaries. After putting several popular apps through their paces, I've got to share my honest thoughts, especially on why Risenote has become an absolute staple in my workflow. When I first started, many apps promised the moon, but often delivered just a basic recording or a raw transcription. While great for documentation, these weren't actually helping me do anything with the information. Let's break down some of the others I tried and why they didn't quite hit the mark for me. Otter, for instance, is pretty reliable overall. It does a decent job with transcription and is fine for simply documenting what was said. But, in my experience, it wasn't particularly "smart" when it came to synthesizing information or pulling out key takeaways. I'd still have to sift through the entire transcript myself to find the important bits, which defeats the purpose of saving time! Then there was Granola AI. On the surface, it had a really nice user interface – very sleek and aesthetically pleasing. However, when it came down to the actual notes it produced, they were quite weak. I found myself feeling like I couldn't really rely on it for anything beyond very short, simple calls. If I had a complex discussion or a longer meeting, the quality of the summarized notes just wasn't there. Another one I tested was Minutes AI. It made a decent first impression and did manage to catch a few highlights during calls. The problem? Too many important details seemed to get lost in the shuffle. It was like getting a highlight reel that missed half the best plays. I often felt like I was missing context or critical decisions, which is a big no-no for keeping projects on track. This is where Risenote truly shines and why I've given it a solid 9.5/10 in my personal ranking. From the moment I started using it, it was clear this was different. Instead of just giving me a word-for-word playback, Risenote actually processes the conversation. It captures everything, yes, but then it intelligently organizes it into usable notes, action items, and key decisions. I no longer have to take notes manually during meetings – Risenote does the heavy lifting for me. This means I can actively participate, listen better, and contribute more, without worrying about missing anything. What I love most is how super easy it is to stay organized. After a meeting, I get a concise summary with clear next steps and owner assignments. It’s not just a transcript; it’s a structured breakdown of what happened and what needs to happen next. This has been a game-changer for follow-ups and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. If you're tired of sifting through endless text or feeling like your AI note-taker isn't quite 'getting it,' I seriously recommend giving Risenote a try. It’s helped me streamline my post-meeting tasks and focus on what truly matters.
