If Ya Mammy Ain’t teach You…

Respectfully↙️

Fellas, let’s talk. Y’all be out here acting like basic life skills require a PhD just to avoid helping. We see you.

1️⃣ Laundry? – “Babe, do I use hot or cold water?” Sir, you’ve been washing clothes for years, figure it out.

2️⃣ Cooking? – Can grill a whole slab of ribs but can’t make spaghetti? Make it make sense.

3️⃣ Cleaning? – “I don’t know where anything goes.” But you know exactly where the remote is at all times?

4️⃣ Grocery Shopping? – How you walk into the store for milk and come out with beef jerky, a random toolset, and zero of what was on the list?

5️⃣ Taking Care of the Kids? – “I’m babysitting today.” Sir, YOU are the father. This is called parenting.

6️⃣ Gift Shopping? – “I don’t know what to get you.” But you know which sneaker drop is coming next month? Interesting.

7️⃣ Planning Anything? – “Just tell me what you wanna do.” Sir, use that same energy you have for fantasy football to plan a date.

8️⃣ Remembering Important Dates? – Can recite every stat from the 2016 NBA Finals but forgets your anniversary every year.

9️⃣ Finding Things? – “Where’s the ketchup?” Opens fridge It’s right there. Looks again “I don’t see it.” IT. IS. RIGHT. THERE.

🔟 Self-Care? – Will ignore a cough for three weeks but refuse to schedule a doctor’s appointment. Just vibes and vitamin C.

Fellas, do better. Ladies, tag a man who needs this lesson. If ya mammy ain’t teach you, consider this your wake-up call.

... Read moreIn today's fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever for men to cultivate essential life skills. Many people believe that traits such as responsibility, perfection, and capability are innate; however, they can be learned and developed over time. From mastering self-care to managing household tasks, these skills are pivotal in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Understanding the difference between 'babysitting' and parenting can alter one's approach to responsibilities. It's not just about performing tasks; it's about embracing roles and recognizing the importance of being actively involved, especially in family settings. Additionally, grocery shopping is a common area where men often struggle, often returning with unexpected items instead of what was needed. Developing a shopping list and planning ahead can help to ensure better results. Cooking, too, is a skill that can be mastered with practice. It’s important to move beyond basic meals and learn how to create nutritious dishes that can impress guests and promote healthy living. When it comes to cleaning and organization, knowing where items belong is key; this is paired with the ability to find things easily instead of relying on others. Encouraging men in your circle to express their capabilities in daily tasks can foster a more cooperative and productive environment. Reminding them of important dates is also crucial in nurturing relationships. Ignoring health concerns until they escalate is common; regular check-ups and awareness of self-health can lead to significant benefits. Overall, mastering these skills is essential for becoming a more well-rounded individual. Ladies, encourage the men in your life—taking the initiative can make a world of difference!

Nah for real though. It’s actually sad. I use to work in a doctors office and the amount of men who called for appointments and didn’t know what a physical was blew my mind. The mommas that were still calling for their grown sons sent me through the roof. Talking about they’re their secretary Ms. please 🤦🏾‍♀️🙄
