Ain’t No Hill Like King of the Hill

Let’s talk about the most underrated show that ever graced a TV screen: King of the Hill. Yeah, I said it. And if you disagree, I’ll politely tell you to go sit with Peggy and her busted Spanish skills.

This show? It’s a slow-cooked Southern gem. While everybody else was busy doing cutaway gags and wild cartoon chaos, King of the Hill was out here giving us propane and purpose. Hank Hill had one job—sell propane and propane accessories—and he did it with his whole chest. That man loved propane like some folks love Beyoncé.

But listen, it wasn’t just Hank. We had Bobby, who was out here living his best chubby king life—funny, awkward, and always two seconds from turning a talent show into a one-man revolution. “That boy ain’t right,” but honestly? That boy was real. Relatable. And occasionally inspirational. I still quote “I don’t know you, that’s my purse!” whenever someone gets too bold.

Then we had Dale, the local conspiracy theorist who wore sunglasses like they paid his rent. That man stayed ready. He thought the government was watching him through his toaster. And Boomhauer? Chile, he mumbled his way through every sentence but somehow always made sense. It’s giving smooth talker energy with a sprinkle of “huh?”

King of the Hill wasn’t flashy. It was fried bologna on white bread. It was sitting in a lawn chair with a cold drink, solving absolutely nothing but feeling better anyway. That’s the vibe. And in today’s world of overstimulation, it’s the peace we didn’t know we needed.

So yes, it’s 2025 and I’m still watching King of the Hill like it just dropped on Netflix yesterday. Judge me if you want, but as Hank would say: “That’s asinine.” And I stand by it.

I love King of the Hill! I watch on Hulu and I agree it is a gem! I started liking it when I became an adult. Back in the day I wasn’t really interested but I realize I was sleeping on it. It’s really funny not too stimulating. They should reboot this adult cartoon.
