Preparation is flexible; for quicker meals, it can be prepared in under 30 minutes on the stovetop. Alternatively, using a crockpot allows the chili to simmer slowly for hours, enhancing the melding of flavors with minimal hands-on cooking time, making it ideal for a slow-cooked lazy Sunday. Additional toppings such as shredded Mexican-blend cheese, avocado slices, and optional diced onions provide freshness, creaminess, and texture contrast to the hearty chili base. Avocado adds healthy fats, which complement the chili's nutrient profile.
