S’mores Dip with Cottage Cheese
A super fun and delicious s'mores dip that makes a great appetizer for get-togethers! It's like a combination of cheesecake and s'mores. The salty cottage cheese complements the sweet flavors well and is the perfect sub for cream cheese! No one will ever know the difference.
Kids love this, too!
INGREDIENTS
16 ounces Good Culture Low Fat 2% Cottage Cheese
7 ounces marshmallow fluff/creme
1 1/2 cups cool whip, softened
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Pinch of salt, optional
To Serve
Mini chocolate chips
Mini marshmallows
Graham crackers, for garnish and to dip
Strawberries, for dipping
INSTRUCTIONS
Add the cottage cheese to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Combine whipped cottage cheese, cool whip, marshmallow fluff, maple syrup, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt (optional) to a large mixing bowl.
Using a hand mixer, beat on low or medium until all the ingredients are well-combined with minimal or no lumps. Pour the mixture into a large bowl or 9.5 inch circular glass dish.
Add mini chocolate chips (I used about 1 cup) and combine. Top the dip with crushed graham crackers and mini marshmallows when ready to serve (max 3 hours before serving to prevent sogginess). Serve with sheets of graham crackers and strawberries. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days!

S’mores dip is a creative twist on the traditional s’mores dessert, combining the classic flavors of gooey marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers with the added nutritional benefits of cottage cheese. Cottage cheese is not only lower in fat compared to cream cheese but also packed with protein, making this dip a healthier yet delicious option. Using Good Culture Low Fat 2% Cottage Cheese helps achieve a smooth and creamy texture that complements the marshmallow fluff and Cool Whip perfectly. The addition of maple syrup and vanilla extract enhances the sweet flavor profile while the optional pinch of salt balances the sweetness for a well-rounded taste. This recipe is versatile for various occasions such as parties, family gatherings, and even after-school snacks. Serving this dip with graham crackers and strawberries introduces different textures and flavors, making each bite enjoyable. Mini chocolate chips and marshmallows folded into the mixture add bursts of chocolate and extra gooeyness, capturing the essence of classic s’mores in a fun dip form. To keep the dip fresh and prevent sogginess, it’s best to add graham crackers and mini marshmallows just before serving and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days. This makes it convenient for preparation in advance or enjoying as a quick dessert or appetizer throughout the week. This recipe also aligns with popular trends favoring high-protein snacks and healthier dessert alternatives. Cottage cheese desserts have gained popularity for those seeking indulgence without excess calories or fat, and this s’mores dip is a perfect example. For those looking to experiment, variations can include adding crushed nuts for crunch or using dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor. You can adjust sweetness levels with natural sweeteners or omit the cool whip for a lighter dip. This adaptability makes it suitable for different dietary preferences and tastes. In summary, this s’mores dip with cottage cheese offers a delightful blend of flavors, nutritional benefits, and convenience, making it an excellent addition to any appetizer or dessert menu.
