🍵✨🍵 Matcha my way. 🍵✨🍵
Making matcha lattes at home has always been a bit intimidating for me because matcha powder can be tricky to work with if you're not familiar with it. However, over time I've developed a simple technique to create a vanilla matcha latte that tastes fantastic even if it doesn’t look perfect. To start, I usually sift the matcha powder to avoid clumps. Then, I carefully whisk it with a small amount of hot water to create a smooth, vibrant green paste before adding any milk. This step is crucial because it ensures the matcha is fully dissolved and prevents gritty texture. I love using oat or almond milk as they complement the matcha’s earthy flavor nicely. For the vanilla flavor, I add a few drops of pure vanilla extract and a little sweetener like honey or agave syrup. The vanilla balances out the slight bitterness of the matcha and adds warmth to the drink. Once everything is mixed together, I steam or heat the milk separately and pour it in, stirring gently. Though my presentation might be 'unaesthetic' compared to barista versions, the flavor is what truly counts for me. This homemade vanilla matcha latte has become my go-to comfort drink, especially when I want a cozy and energizing beverage without caffeine overload from coffee. If you're new to making matcha drinks, don’t worry about perfect looks—focus on mastering the taste and have fun experimenting with different milk types and sweetness levels until you find your personal favorite. Remember, matcha is about enjoying a mindful moment; it’s okay if your latte looks a little messy!
