Watch Out for the Scammers

I know I’m about to set some people off with this one, but it needs to be said:

If you are jumping into people’s DMs giving random “vibe checks,” unsolicited interpretations, warnings, or readings — you are a scammer.

Full stop.

If you are actively seeking people out, looking for problems, issues, or “dark energy” to latch onto so you can turn yourself from practitioner into salesperson — that is bad practice and bad business. That’s not Hoodoo. That’s trend-chasing for a quick dollar.

LET’S START HERE

When you approach people this way, you are almost always leading with negative energy.

If you claim to promote healing, clarity, and protection… why is your opening move fear, confusion, or alarm?

Ask yourself that.

WHAT YOU’RE ACTUALLY DOING

When you jump into someone’s DMs with unsolicited messages, two things happen:

1️⃣ If the person wasn’t going through anything, you just introduced confusion into their life. Confusion has a way of creating problems that weren’t there before.

2️⃣ If the person was already struggling, you likely made it worse by adding worry, fear, or urgency — without consent, context, or relationship.

And all of this happens before they ever asked you for help.

So again… why would you do that?

THE BACKWARDS LOGIC

Another red flag:

If you can allegedly read someone’s “energy” so clearly that you felt compelled to DM them…

Why do you then immediately ask them for information?

Name.

Birthday.

Zodiac sign.

That’s backwards.

And let’s be real — you are not getting anything meaningful from someone telling you their zodiac sign. Do you know how many people in the world share the same sign, cusp, angel numbers, or placements?

If your reading works off that alone, then your reading should apply equally to millions of people.

But only one person is walking that path.

So what are you really doing?

REAL WORKERS MOVE DIFFERENT

Real workers move in discernment.

We don’t chase clients.

We don’t announce doom to drum up business.

And we don’t lead with fear to sell “solutions.”

Clients find practitioners — not the other way around.

And we damn sure don’t create problems just so we can pretend to fix them.

FINAL WORD

If your business model relies on:

• unsolicited fear

• random DMs

• vague “energy warnings”

• zodiac-based cold reads

• urgency without consent

That’s not Hoodoo.

That’s manipulation.
