Wavy Hair Routine on Straight Hair

If you think your hair might be wavy, then it probably is!!

🎀 FULL WAVY HAIR STYLING ROUTINE!

Here is my post-wash styling routine breakdown:

1. Spray leave-in conditioner and comb out with your hair hanging over your head.

2. Rub together in your hands a little bit of gel and rake it through your hair and scrunch. (Make sure you hear the squishy sound when scrunching!)

3. Emulsify mousse in your hands and apply it like the gel. Use a microfiber towel to scrunch out the excess water and product.

4. Scrunch with a light gel one more time.

5. Diffuse (use heat protection).

6. Spray wave spray for more volume!

7. Once dry, scrunch in oil for those soft waves.

Hope this helps!

... Read moreHey everyone! For years, I just assumed my hair was stick straight. I'd try to force curls that would fall out in an hour, never realizing I might actually have hidden waves. But after some experimenting, I finally cracked the code to a simple and effective wavy hair routine that totally transformed my locks! If you're in the same boat, constantly wondering 'how to get wavy hair with straight hair,' then keep reading. It’s less about changing your hair type and more about embracing and enhancing what's already there. Many people, myself included, unknowingly have a natural wave pattern (often 2b waves) that gets weighed down by heavy products, brushed out, or flattened by heat. Learning how to make straight hair wavy often starts with changing your routine and being gentle with your hair. If you're looking to achieve that 'straight wavy hair' look, this expanded routine is for you. Let's dive deeper into each step. I always make sure my hair is soaking wet when I apply my leave-in conditioner. This helps to create lovely wave clumps. Tossing your hair over your head isn't just for fun – it helps gravity work its magic and encourages those natural patterns to form. Remember to be super gentle when combing, as aggressive brushing can break up developing wave patterns. That 'squishy sound' I mentioned for gel and mousse? It's key! It means your hair is fully saturated and ready to form defined waves. I've found that using both a light gel for hold and a mousse for volume gives me the best results for my 'straight wavy hair.' Don't be afraid to use a good amount; it creates a 'cast' that you scrunch out later for soft, touchable waves. Using a microfiber towel isn't just a trend; it's a frizz-fighter! Regular towels rough up the cuticle, leading to frizz. Gently scrunching with microfiber removes excess water without disrupting those precious waves. And when it comes to diffusing, patience is a virtue! I use low heat and speed, hovering the diffuser around my head first, then gently cupping sections. This helps set the '2b waves' I'm aiming for without creating a frizzy mess. It’s all about encouraging, not forcing, those waves. Once my hair is 100% dry, I break the gel cast by scrunching in a few drops of lightweight oil. This makes my waves incredibly soft and shiny, preventing that 'forced curls' look. If you have 'long straight hair' that you're trying to coax into waves, focusing your scrunching efforts and product application more heavily on the mid-lengths and ends can help create those lovely 'waves at the end' without pulling down the roots. For frizzy natural wavy hair, proper drying and an anti-humidity product can be a game-changer. If your 'silky hair' struggles to hold a wave, you might need products with a bit more grip or a texturizing spray. Sometimes, very silky hair can be over-moisturized, making it too slippery for waves to form. A clarifying wash can surprisingly help by resetting your hair. Finding your natural wave pattern is a journey, and this wavy hair routine has been a game-changer for me. It's truly amazing to see your hair transform from what you thought was straight to beautifully defined waves. Give it a try, and you might just discover the waves you never knew you had!

I have wavy hair! I don’t have to even buy any product though, I just make my own leave in conditioner with water and regular conditioner and spray it on my hair and it works 🤷‍♀️
