Travel Guide
📍: Sedona, Arizona
✈️: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
🚙: Rented a convertible from Enterprise Rentals at the airport. Found this to be the cheapest. It was the easiest airport rental I have ever dealt with. Highly recommend adding the insurance it was only about $40 extra and covered literally everything. About a 2 hour drive to Sedona. Views are amazing, so don’t worry!
☀️: weather was perfect! 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit in April. Loved driving the scenic loop with the top down!
🥾: get hiking boots if you plan on doing any rock scrambling!!! Will go into detail…
⚠️: when hiking think sunrise/sunset that is when it is least busy and you will not have to stand in lines for pictures or feel rushed when climbing rocks.
⚠️: download the “AllTrails” App. Helped us find better trails and most importantly not get lost.
1. Devil’s Brige Trail
• Parked at mescal parking lot & took Chuck Wagon Trail (the other trail is where vehicles and ATVs go making the trail very dusty)
• took about two hours 30min total (4 miles) there and back with lots of picture taking.
• last 10 minutes you are climbing rocks this is not scary it’s more like stairs of rocks!
2. Airport Mesa Loop Trail
• most panoramic scenery of Sedona
• introductory hike, no climbing, more of a trail
• about 3.3 miles & took 2 hours
• hiked in the morning as well as watched the sunset at the energy vortex
3. Raven Cave’s Trail
• very short trail about 0.5 miles
• towards end go to left down the hill and around to the right to the front of caves OR
• go straight all the way and will do some rock climbing down (we did this, it was very easy & shorter)
• walk through the caves and get some nice views
4. Slide Rock State Park
• trail 1.0 mile
• can pack lunch eat on river, pack swimsuit and take a dip in the water (it is freezing)
• nice scenic drive on the way
• cost $20 per car of 4 people or less to get in
5. Chapel of The Holy Cross
• drove by to look at, but did not hike
• beautiful from the outside at the bottom of the trail
6. Cathedral Rock
• 1 mile hike round trip & are climbing some stairs
• one of the seven energy vortex’s
• we did not make it to the top. Have to do major rock climbing/scrambling at the top, so make sure you’re wearing hiking boots and have absolutely nothing in your hands. Definitely will have to slide on butt coming down. I plan on going back to achieve this hike!
• climbed half way and still got a nice view
7. Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village
• cutest place to enjoy some art & shopping
• eat breakfast at Pump House it was my favorite
Last get the convertible you won’t regret it! 🩷 I hope this is helpful and let me know how it goes 🥂
