Trip to New Mexico

I’m thinking about moving to this platform. I’m still navigating it but I am visiting the Taos New Mexico area. I would love some ideas on what to do. I’ve always been very interested in archeological sites or rock hounding.

Is there any elders or anyone that knows and elder that’s willing to talk to me about some historical events from here. C: I am weak from arthritis but I will do my best to chop wood.Taos #newmexico 📍

... Read moreTaos, known for its stunning landscapes and rich history, is a must-visit destination in New Mexico. The area is home to several archaeological sites, including Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which offers a glimpse into the lives of the Tiwa-speaking Native Americans. If you're interested in rock hounding, there are various locations in the surrounding mountains where you can find beautiful specimens of quartz and agate. In addition to natural attractions, Taos has a vibrant arts scene. The town is filled with galleries showcasing local artists’ works, often inspired by the breathtaking Southwest landscape. Don't miss the chance to experience the local cuisine, which blends traditional New Mexican flavors with contemporary twists. Consider trying dishes like green chili enchiladas or posole for a true taste of the region. For those seeking connection with the local community, consider attending local events or visiting community centers where you might meet elders or historians eager to share stories of the area's past. Learning about significant historical events can enrich your understanding of this unique place. Whether you are exploring alone or meeting new friends, Taos offers an unforgettable experience for anyone willing to dive into its cultural depth.
