Happy Summer Solstice

☀️🌿 CROWN OF THE SUN BLESSING 🌿☀️

Ever wondered why people wear flower crowns at the Summer Solstice?

No, they’re not just for boujee festivals where a weekend ticket costs more than your monthly rent and somebody called Moonbeam is trying to sell you a £14 artisan chai latte.

Flower crowns have been worn for centuries during midsummer celebrations as symbols of the sun, abundance, fertility, protection and connection to the natural world.

Which is admittedly less exciting than pretending you’re the main character in a woodland cult documentary…

But only slightly.

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year; a celebration of light, growth, abundance and the turning of the Wheel. So I thought I’d share this beautiful old-fashioned Sun Crown Blessing for anyone wanting to celebrate in a simple way.

Gather daisies, chamomile, lavender and rosemary. Weave yourself a flower crown. Stand in the sunshine. Feel the warmth on your face.

That’s it.

No complicated rituals.

No buying seventeen hundred candles.

No pressure to fill your cart with every shiny magical thing you see.

No moon water brewed under seventeen specific astrological conditions while Mercury is doing the hokey-cokey.

Just you, the sunshine and a flower crown that makes your neighbours question whether you’re joining a cult.

(You are. It’s called Moss in the Moonlight and the membership fee is collecting pretty rocks and talking to plants.)

So go outside.

Touch some grass.

Admire a bee.

Wave at a crow.

Collect a rock you’ll swear has good vibes.

Forget why you went outside in the first place.

May your gardens thrive.

May your herbs grow wild.

May your crystals sparkle.

And may the tiny goblin that lives in your brain experience at least five consecutive minutes of peace.

Happy Solstice, my little hedge witches. ☀️✨

A close-up of a simmer pot containing water, orange slices, dried rose petals, a cinnamon stick, and various herbs, creating a fragrant mixture.
Dried orange and lemon slices strung together with colorful beads, hanging on a wooden shelf next to a troll doll and potted plants, showcasing summer decorations.
A bright blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds, with the sun peeking through the lush green leaves of a large tree, suggesting a sunny summer day.
