... Read moreHey plant fam! I totally get the struggle of having your first green leafy indoor plant grow wild and long. My Pothos started out small, and now its beautiful vines are trailing everywhere, just like the one in the picture with stems going up walls! It's such a joy to see them flourish, but then you wonder, 'What do I do now?' You're definitely not alone in this! Since you mentioned losing the care info (we've all been there!), let's dive into some super beginner-friendly tips for green leafy indoor plants, especially those vining beauties like Pothos, Philodendrons, or even some Ivy varieties. They're often quite hardy, making them perfect for new plant parents. 1. Light Love: Most green leafy indoor plants, especially Pothos, love bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch their leaves, leading to ugly brown spots, but too little will make them leggy and slow their growth. A spot near a window with sheer curtains is usually perfect. If you notice the leaves looking pale or growing far apart, it might be asking for a bit more light. 2. Watering Wisdom: This is where many beginners go wrong! Don't overwater. Stick your finger about an inch or two into the soil. If it feels dry, it's time to water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom. Make sure your pot has drainage holes! Overwatering is a common killer, leading to root rot. If the leaves start to droop dramatically, that's often a sign of thirst. They're pretty good at telling you what they need. 3. Soil & Potting Perfection: Well-draining potting mix is key. When you repot, try not to go too big too fast. A pot that's only slightly larger than the root ball is ideal. Pothos actually likes to be a little root-bound. If your plant is sending out roots from the drainage holes, then it’s probably time for a slightly bigger home. 4. Taming Those Long Vines (Pruning!): Now, about those long vines! Yes, it's totally a thing to prune your green leafy indoor plants, and it's actually really good for them. Pruning encourages bushier growth, making your plant look fuller instead of just long and sparse. You can cut the vines back anywhere along the stem, ideally just after a 'node' (where a leaf or aerial root emerges). Don't be scared! Your plant will likely produce new growth from that spot, creating new stems and leaves. 5. Propagation Power: And here's a bonus tip: don't throw those cuttings away! Many vining green leafy indoor plants, especially Pothos, are super easy to propagate. Just stick the cuttings (make sure they have at least one node) in a glass of water, and watch the roots grow! Once they have a few inches of roots, you can plant them back into the original pot to make it even bushier, or start new plants for friends. It’s so satisfying to watch new plants grow from your old ones! 6. Humidity & Fertilizing: Consider humidity! Many indoor plants appreciate a little extra humidity, especially if your home is dry. A pebble tray or occasional misting can help. Also, don't forget to fertilize lightly during the growing season (spring and summer) to give your plant an extra boost. It sounds like your plant is really happy and healthy, which is the most important thing! Keep observing it, and you'll become a plant whisperer in no time. What are your favorite green leafy indoor plants to grow?

pothos plant, they are great plants. yours is growing pretty long, you can always trim at the nodes & put that in a water to start a new plant.

just cut at a node and put the pieces in water
