…what do you even make after the basics?
If you know how to crochet…
but don’t know what to make next 😅
you’re not stuck…
you just don’t have a path yet
That’s exactly why I structured my content this way—
and why I created my Skool
so you’re not figuring it out alone 💛
Once you've mastered the basics of crochet, deciding what to make next can feel overwhelming. It's a common experience among crocheters to hit a point where familiar patterns become too simple or repetitive, and the path forward isn't obvious. What really helped me was seeking out structured learning environments like dedicated crochet Skools or online communities where paths are clearly laid out for skill development. Exploring intermediate projects such as amigurumi (crocheted stuffed toys), home décor items like cushion covers, or wearable pieces such as hats and scarves can provide fresh challenges and keep your interest alive. Each new project introduces you to stitches or techniques that build on your foundational skills, such as increases, decreases, color changes, and working in the round. Another valuable step is to participate in crochet forums and social media groups tagged with #crochet, #crochettips, or #crochetcommunity. Here, you can find inspiration, tips, and personalized advice which takes the guesswork out of choosing projects. Sharing your progress and questions with fellow crocheters can transform the learning curve into an enjoyable journey. Structuring your crochet goals can also play a major role in avoiding feeling stuck. Setting milestones like completing an intermediate pattern each month or learning a new stitch every week keeps the motivation alive and provides a sense of accomplishment. Personally, joining a crochet Skool community was a game-changer. It gave me access to tutorials, pattern recommendations, and most importantly, a group of supportive creators who cheer each other on. Whether you want to turn crochet into a hobby or a small business, expanding your project repertoire and skill set ensures that creativity and joy continue well beyond the basics.
So, now u take what u have learn n design or make until ur heart is content. there is always something to learn. Find ur glitch. learn abbreviations, read a pattern, read a chart, write a pattern, learn ur colors (outside the norm). There is always something to learn. U can even mix mediums. THE SKIES THE LIMIT!
