📚 April Reads = ALL 4+ STARS! 📚

April really showed OUT for my reading life! Every book was a 4-star read or higher and I’m still thinking about them.

📖 Kin by Tayari Jones — emotional and beautifully written

📖 Burn Down Master’s House by Clay Cane — powerful, thought-provoking, and so NECESSARY

📖 Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby — gritty and fast-paced

📖 By the Book by Jasmine Guillory — cute and cozy

📖 Holy Moments by Matthew Kelly — simple but impactful

Not a single miss.

What’s one book you read in April that I absolutely need to add to my TBR?!

... Read moreApril was an unforgettable month for my reading journey with all five books earning at least four stars—no exceptions! Each title offered something unique, whether it was the emotional depth in Kin by Tayari Jones or the impactful reflections in Burn Down Master’s House by Clay Cane. I was particularly drawn to the powerful themes explored in Burn Down Master’s House, which sheds light on systemic issues through a compelling narrative. It felt urgent and necessary reading, especially in today’s social climate. Similarly, Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby kept me on edge with its gritty, fast-paced storytelling that explores themes of loss and redemption. On the lighter side, By the Book by Jasmine Guillory provided a cozy and charming escape with characters that felt authentic and relatable. And Holy Moments by Matthew Kelly offered simple yet profound insights that made me pause and reflect. What truly made this month special was how these diverse stories enriched my perspective and resonated deeply. If you haven’t read any of these yet, I highly recommend starting with Kin—Tayari Jones’ elegant prose and emotional storytelling stuck with me long after the final page. For fellow book lovers, I’d love to hear your April reads! Any recommendations that left a mark on you? Let’s keep building our TBR lists with meaningful, thought-provoking books. Reading isn’t just a pastime; it’s a way to connect with different lives and ideas, and these April picks are proof of that.

Sometimes I’m an over achiever but I needed to add the cat and mouse duo to my 2025 reads 🫶🏼 The only one I didn’t really like was Deep End, it just flopped for me. It was a painfully slow read and didn’t live up to my expectations as booktok led me to believe it would, but I also don’t vibe muc

I’ve been in a reading slump but this month I started to get out of it. I love going to the library to get my books and this month all of them came from there! Hexed gets 3/5 stars. It’s a dark romance retelling of The Little Mermaid. I wanted to see how Vanessa was redeemable but instead it jus

April was a month where I second guessed almost every book choice. I was really looking forward to “The Bone Thief” and I had to fight my way through it. I took a chance on the “Grace Year” and it turned out to be my absolute favorite. It’s a mix of “Handmaids Tale” and “The Hunger Games”. #apri
