The Archive of Echoes
Episode 1: The Glass Desert
The world didn't end with a bang or a whimper; it ended with silence and sand. Our story begins in the year 3042, in a place once known as the Great Basin, now referred to only as The Mirror Fields.
The Lone Scavenger
Meet Kael, a drifter equipped with a specialized pressurized suit designed to withstand the abrasive silica storms. Kael isn't looking for water or gold—he’s looking for Data Shards. These tiny, glowing fragments are all that remain of the "Cloud" from the Old World.
The Discovery
While trekking through the shifting dunes of pulverized glass, Kael’s sensor begins to pulse. Buried beneath a crystalline ridge lies the entrance to a Pre-Fall Vault.
"Most people see a graveyard of silicon. I see a library waiting to be read." — Kael’s Log, Entry 402
Inside, the air is stagnant, smelling of ozone and ancient plastic. He finds a terminal, still humming with a ghostly, rhythmic light.
The Anomaly
As Kael plugs in his gauntlet to extract the data, the screen doesn't show code or coordinates. Instead, it displays a single image of a living forest—something that hasn't existed for a millennium. But there’s a catch: the coordinates are set for the Forbidden Zone, a place where the laws of physics are said to be "unstable."
On the next episode:
Kael must decide if the promise of green is worth the risk of the Void.
What happens next?
• A) Kael enters the Forbidden Zone immediately.
• B) Kael returns to the Outpost to trade the info for better gear.
• C) A rival scavenger group ambushes Kael inside the vault.
