💄 Still Figuring Out Lipstick 💄
I’m confident in so many areas of my life… but lipstick? That’s the one thing that still makes me pause. I’ve always admired people who can pull it off so naturally — swipe it on and walk out the door like it’s part of who they are. Meanwhile, I overthink it. I’ll try a shade, blend it down, wipe it off, and wonder if it’s “too much.” Bold lips just feel louder than I’m used to.
It actually took a lot for me to wear Mary Kay® Supreme Hydrating Lipstick in Black Cherry (Shine) out. I started small — dabbing on just a little, then slowly adding more until I finally built up the courage to leave the house wearing it fully. That’s the moment you see in this picture. And while it felt like a win, it was also the only time I’ve worn it out so far. I’d love to get to the point where it feels natural, where I can just swipe it on without hesitation.
For now, I lean on the neutrals — those I can wear with confidence. The brighter shades? Like Festive Pink, still sitting in my drawer? They’re waiting for me. Maybe it sounds silly, but for me, lipstick isn’t just about makeup. It’s about confidence, expression, and letting myself take up a little more space, even in small ways.
