THINGS I WILL TEACH MY KIDS 🫶🏽

i think our society lacks in all of these things…

instead of love yourself above all < love God above all

instead of hatred & cruelty < compassion

instead of pride & self esteem < humility

instead of lying & dishonesty < honesty

instead of slandering & talking bad about people < only talk well of those around you— & if you have nothing kind to say, don’t speak at all

instead of confidence in just yourself or the people around you < confidence in Jesus, who never fails

instead of serving for self or praise < serve others for others & for Jesus

instead of lusting & dressing for attention < have a modest, humble heart.. seeking to walk with grace

your glory < HIS glory

Teaching kids about love can be rooted in the biblical teachings like 1 Peter 4:8 which emphasizes loving one another deeply. This encourages them to foster strong, caring relationships. Moreover, humility, as mentioned in Philippians 2:3, is the key to valuing others above oneself, thus promoting empathy and kindness. Honesty is another vital lesson, captured in Proverbs 12:22, where trustworthy individuals are celebrated, fostering a sense of integrity from a young age. To combat harmful gossip, Proverbs 20:19 reminds us of the value of maintaining confidentiality and trust in relationships. Teaching children to communicate positively about others can cultivate a supportive network. Building confidence through faith, as referred to in 2 Corinthians 3:5, allows kids to understand that their self-worth is not just in their abilities, but in their reliance on a greater power. Furthermore, Galatians 5:13 encourages serving others with love, instilling a sense of community and generosity in your children. Lastly, modesty, as expressed in 1 Peter 3:3-4, teaches kids the value of inner beauty and humility over superficial appearance, leading to a more grounded self-image. Ultimately, these foundational teachings not only prepare children for life's challenges but also help them contribute positively to society, embracing integrity and compassion as their guiding principles.
