Parenting Is No Joke

The past couple of days I was having a hard time. Having 2 kids with a big age gap is a real challenge. I have a toddler that's going through some kind of mean tantrum faze and a bigger kid that acts like a teenager already. My husband and I were talking about how between the 2 of them we were kind of on edge. We would literally be going back to back dealing with them. Scolding the older one cause she not listening or doing the stuff we asked her to do, and just trying to figure out what the heck is going on with the toddler cause he acts like he needs to go back to bed and start the day over, idk I'm just trying to ride it out till the faze ends for BOTH of them. Dealing with all of that really put me in a mental space that made me feel like I'm a mean or bad parent. Lucky I had my partner to talk to and he also expressed that he was feeling the same. So we had a chat to vent our frustrations and how we can try to improve the situations not just for our sake but also for the kids so we can better understand them and we can all work together in a way we could all except. Parenting is hard!!! this ishh is no joke the mental and emotional strain crazy!!! Anyways we live, we love and we survive another day of parenting. Not all days are bad days and not all day are good days. The end rant over

... Read moreParenting can feel overwhelming, especially when managing diverse needs across different ages. Many parents share similar experiences, indicating that tantrums from toddlers and the rebelliousness of teenagers create a unique dynamic that can be both exhausting and rewarding. Strategies for coping include effective communication, setting realistic expectations, and finding time for self-care amidst the chaos. Support networks, whether online or through friends and family, can be invaluable. Engaging with other parents through forums and discussions can also provide comfort and practical advice. Remember, it’s okay to seek help, and acknowledging the difficulties is the first step towards ensuring both parents and children flourish during these challenging phases. Celebrate the small victories and learn to enjoy moments of joy in the journey of parenting, cultivating resilience and understanding within the family. Ultimately, each day is a new opportunity to learn and grow together.

Parenting is hard…
It’s truly bittersweet. I was really challenged by son tonight. My son whom is 12 y/o and is almost my height. (I’m 5’6 1/2). Not challenged physically but mentally. He’s at the age where he’s smelling himself, being easily influenced and feeling rebellious. We are past the gentle parenting stage.
