Mr. & Mrs 🤵🏾♂️👰🏾♀️
I loved everything about our small and intimate marriage. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't want to change anything..... ok well I'd bring a pair of flats and I'd like for us to have maybe an hour or two of more time for the photo shoot but all in all it was perfect for us ❤️ Cheers 🥂#blackcouplegoals #blackgirlcreator #blacklove #elopement #marriage #Lemon8Diary #lemon8diarychallenge #courthousewedding #wedding #blackcouplethings
After reading about my perfect intimate marriage, I know some of you might be wondering if a small, courthouse wedding is right for you. It truly was 'Our Day,' and I couldn't recommend it enough for couples who value connection over extravagance. When you search for 'wedding' ideas, the sheer scale of options can be overwhelming, but an intimate ceremony offers a unique kind of magic. One of the biggest reasons we chose this path was to focus entirely on *us*. There's less stress about guest lists, elaborate decor, or pleasing everyone else. Instead, we poured our energy into savoring every moment. For anyone considering an elopement or a courthouse ceremony, my top advice is to embrace the simplicity. Think about what truly matters to you as a couple. Is it stunning photos? A quiet moment with just your partner? A delicious meal afterward? Pinpoint those priorities, and let go of the rest. From a practical standpoint, planning is surprisingly straightforward. You’ll need to check your local legal requirements for marriage licenses and witnesses. I learned firsthand that comfort is key! While I loved my wedding shoes, I definitely wished I’d brought a pair of elegant flats for strolling and photos. So, consider your footwear carefully! Also, don't underestimate the value of a good photographer, even for a short ceremony. My little regret about wanting an hour or two more for photos taught me that those memories are priceless and worth allocating time for. Discuss your vision with your photographer beforehand to maximize your time. Making an intimate wedding feel incredibly special doesn't require a huge budget. Focus on personal touches. Maybe it's a special outfit, a bouquet that reflects your personality, or a meaningful dinner at your favorite restaurant. We celebrated our day, which spanned from 'Jul 18-27,2024,' and every little detail contributed to the feeling of it being uniquely ours. It’s a chance to be creative and infuse your personality into every aspect without the pressure of a grand affair. For those navigating family expectations about a larger wedding, communication is vital. Explain why an intimate ceremony feels right for you both. Often, once loved ones understand your desire for a personal, stress-free celebration, they become incredibly supportive. You can always plan a casual get-together or a celebratory dinner with family and friends later, making sure everyone feels included. Ultimately, an intimate wedding allows you to start your married life feeling connected, authentic, and joyful. It's about celebrating your love story in a way that feels true to you. As we look forward to 'July 18th 2025,' our first big anniversary, I know we made the perfect choice for 'Our Day'.
