... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share a bit more about what living out my Christian faith truly means to me, beyond just saying I believe. It’s a journey, not a destination, and honestly, some days are harder than others to stay aligned with what the Bible teaches. But that's where the beauty of growth and God's grace comes in.
For me, it all starts with recognizing that our lives are a testimony. The verse that often comes to mind reminds us to 'use our words to be an example to all believers in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.' This isn't just about avoiding bad language; it's about intentionally using our words to build others up, to encourage, to share hope, and to speak truth in love. I've learned that a kind word can make such a difference, and a thoughtless one can cause so much harm. So, I constantly try to be mindful of how I communicate, both online and offline.
Beyond just speech, our conduct speaks volumes. How do we act when no one is watching? Are we honest, compassionate, and patient? I've found that walking with God means striving for integrity in every area. It’s about letting the Holy Spirit guide us daily. There are moments when I feel uncertain or overwhelmed, but praying and asking to be guided by the Spirit helps me make decisions that align with God's will, not just my own fleeting desires. This guidance helps us to 'produce fruit' – manifestations of God's character in our lives like joy, peace, patience, and kindness.
Another huge part of my faith walk is embracing humility. It's so easy to get caught up in our own achievements or opinions, but the Bible teaches us to 'clothe ourselves with humility.' For me, this means acknowledging that all good things come from God, serving others without seeking recognition, and being open to learning and correction. It’s a constant battle against pride, but a necessary one for spiritual growth.
And then there's love. Real, unconditional love, even for those who are difficult or who might be considered our 'enemies.' This is perhaps the hardest commandment, but it’s at the very heart of the Christian message. It's not about condoning wrong actions, but about extending grace, praying for them, and choosing to forgive. When I remember how much God loves me, despite my flaws, it inspires me to try and extend that same love to others. It’s a powerful act of obedience and often brings unexpected peace.
Finally, worship God no matter the situation and commit to God's prayer and love. Life throws so many curveballs, right? Whether it’s a season of abundance or a time of deep struggle, actively choosing to worship and pray keeps my focus on God's sovereignty. It’s in these moments of commitment and surrender that I feel His presence most strongly. It’s not just about church on Sundays; it’s about a daily conversation, a constant awareness of His presence, and trusting His plan. My hope is that by sharing these reflections, you might also be encouraged to deepen your own journey of faith and experience the transformative power of living as a true example.
