... Read moreHave you ever felt like you're constantly searching for your place, your purpose, or even just your true worth? For a long time, I did. I allowed external voices, past mistakes, and even my own insecurities to define me. It was exhausting, and honestly, pretty disheartening. But then, something shifted in my heart when I truly started to understand this profound truth: I am who God says I am.
This isn't just a catchy phrase; it's a foundation for a life filled with peace and confidence. When I first heard it, I thought, 'Okay, but what does God say I am?' The answer, as I discovered through scripture and personal reflection, was so much more beautiful and empowering than I could have imagined.
The beautiful graphic I saw (like the one with the pink roses!) really resonated with me. It declared, 'I AM... VICTORIOUS WONDERFUL BLESSED FEARLESS.' And it pointed to John 15:1-5. This verse talks about Jesus being the vine and we are the branches. If we remain in Him, we bear much fruit. For me, this meant that my identity isn't something I earn or achieve; it's something I receive by being connected to Him.
Let's break down what these powerful declarations mean in our daily lives:
I AM VICTORIOUS: This doesn't mean I'll never face challenges or setbacks. It means that no matter what comes my way, I have the strength and the spirit of God within me to overcome it. My victory isn't based on my own might, but on His. It means I can face doubts, fears, and difficult situations knowing that with Him, I am more than a conqueror.
I AM WONDERFUL: Think about it – we are intricately designed by a Creator who doesn't make mistakes. Each of us is unique, with gifts, talents, and a personality that reflects a piece of His divine artistry. Embracing this truth helped me stop comparing myself to others and start appreciating the unique person He made me to be. There’s a purpose behind every detail.
I AM BLESSED: This isn't just about material possessions, though God does bless us in many ways. It's about a deep, spiritual well-being. It's the blessing of peace that surpasses understanding, the blessing of knowing I am loved unconditionally, and the blessing of having a divine purpose. Even in tough times, I can find blessings in lessons learned and strength gained.
I AM FEARLESS: This one was a big one for me. Fear can paralyze us, stopping us from pursuing our dreams or stepping out in faith. But when I understood that God is always with me, that He is bigger than any challenge, and that His perfect love casts out all fear, I started to feel a profound sense of courage. It’s not about never feeling fear, but about having faith that empowers you to act despite it.
So, how do we truly live out "I am who God says I am"? It starts with renewing our minds. I found it incredibly helpful to:
Read and meditate on scripture: Daily diving into God's word helps to replace the world's narratives with His truth.
Speak life over yourself: Start your day by declaring these truths: "I am victorious, I am wonderful, I am blessed, I am fearless."
Surround yourself with affirmation: Seek out communities or content that uplifts and reminds you of your divine identity.
Pray: Talk to God about your struggles with identity and ask Him to reveal His truth to you more deeply.
Embracing this identity has been a journey, not a destination. But every step of the way, I've found more freedom, more joy, and a deeper connection to my faith. If you're ready to stop letting others define you and start living in the incredible truth of who God says you are, I encourage you to begin this journey today. It truly is life-changing!
Amen 🙏🏿 ❤️
