December Reading Plans ✨

Hey everyone! As December rolls around, I always get so excited to dive into some festive scripture reading. It's not just about the Christmas story, but really understanding the heart behind it all. I’ve been exploring a few different plans this year, like 'OPEN MY EYES December' focusing on 'The Names of Jesus', and also a wonderful 'Season of Advent Reading Plan'. These plans really help to center my heart during a busy time of year. One thing I've noticed is how different verses, even if they aren't directly about the nativity, can weave into the broader message of Christ's coming and His teachings. For example, when I came across verses like Luke 1:18-19, where Zechariah doubts Gabriel's prophecy, or Matthew 1:18-19, showing Joseph's initial struggle with Mary's pregnancy, it really made me reflect on the human side of faith. It's comforting to see that even those closest to the miracles had questions and fears. These stories, often highlighted in an Advent plan, teach us about trusting God's plan even when it seems impossible. It helps me find a 'simple answer' to doubts I might have in my own faith journey. Then there’s John 1:29-31, where John the Baptist proclaims Jesus as the 'Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!' This verse is so powerful and ties directly into the 'CHRISTMAS IS Jesus Scripture Writing Plan' and 'The Names of Jesus' theme. It reminds me that Jesus's birth wasn't just a sweet story, but the beginning of a profound mission to bring salvation. Taking time to write these verses out really helps them sink into my heart. Luke 13:1-2 talks about repentance, reminding us to examine our own lives, while Matthew 22:12-14, the parable of the wedding feast, speaks to readiness and accountability. These verses, which I've been reflecting on as part of a 'December SAVOR OUR SAVIOR!' plan, push me to think deeper about what it truly means to follow Christ. They’re a wonderful way to connect with the 'Loving Your Neighbor' theme by understanding that true love also involves calling ourselves and others to a higher standard. It’s amazing how much more you can glean from scripture when you commit to a reading plan, whether it's 31 days or a specific Advent focus. It helps me find clarity and sometimes, yes, a 'simple answer' to life's big questions by grounding myself in God's word. I highly recommend picking a plan and diving in this December!
