Hi guys I wrote this poem about a guy I use to like in high school. We are still good friends to this day but I still get butterflies when I see him. So I wrote a poem
about this complicated feeling. #embracevulnerability #poetrycollection
In a world where emotional connections can weave complex narratives, poetry serves as a mirror to our innermost feelings. The poem shared here reflects on the nostalgia of a high school crush, exploring themes of friendship, longing, and the butterflies that return upon reconnecting. Writing poetry allows one to embrace vulnerability—a theme captured in hashtags like #embracevulnerability and #poetrycollection. It’s a way of penning down sentiments that may have been tucked away in the corners of one’s heart, reflecting the fluctuating dynamics of a relationship that still holds significance. High school memories have a special way of lingering, often turning mundane moments into cherished reminiscences. This poem captures snippets of youthful exuberance mixed with the complexity of adult relationships while still maintaining a friendly rapport. The blend of romanticizing past emotions also explores how friendships evolve over time, often leading to heartfelt conversations that reignite old feelings. The act of writing this poem becomes a cathartic release, illustrating the importance of expressing what lies in the heart even when they are wrapped in the guise of simple friendship. With elements of reminiscence, longing, and emotional honesty, this piece resonates with those who have traversed similar paths in their own lives, reminding us that it’s okay to acknowledge our feelings and the memories they bring.
