Real Struggle, What Inner Child Looks Like 💝

The Hidden Struggle*😞

I didn’t realise I was hiding, I always thought I was introverted, or already done the work.

But deep down, I was afraid.

Afraid of being seen. To receive support or success!

The Nervous System Knows

Many times I wanted to show up — speak, post, lead, create — my body would freeze.

My heart raced, feeling breathless.

My nervous system was doing its job… keeping me ‘safe’.

But something shifted this month.

I realised this wasn’t my truth but an old imprint — a story I no longer had to carry.

And so I chose: to be seen, one breath at a time, even when the body feels scared

I posted, spoke, I led a class, held space.

And the fear didn’t disappear —

but I Stayed, working on the muscle memories to release what's no longer needed to keeping me small.

And something magical happened:

People felt me, Resonated, Responded.

Embodying the Radiance as I take 1 step at a time.

Now, I still feel the tremble sometimes.

But I also feel : Power, Truth, Love.

The light doesn’t come from perfection — it comes from presence.

If this speaks to you, know this:

You don’t have to do it all at once.

One moment of truth at a time is enough.

... Read moreMany of us carry wounds from our past that affect how we show up today, especially when it comes to our inner child. I remember feeling trapped by the constant fear of being noticed or truly seen, which often caused my body to freeze in moments where I wanted to express myself. This struggle feels very real, but it’s important to recognize that these fears are imprints from old experiences—not our present truth. Healing the inner child takes patience and gentle attention. One method that helped me was self-kindness meditation, which allows you to nurture the parts of yourself that feel vulnerable. This practice gradually rewires our nervous system associations with fear and safety. Another insightful approach is guided meditations focused on self-worth and self-compassion, helping to soften the critical voice that can keep us small. In moments when I feared the spotlight—whether posting online, leading a class, or simply speaking up—I learned to take one step at a time. Each small act of courage breaks the old cycle of hiding. Over time, those trembles in the body transformed into feelings of power and love. The key is showing up authentically, even when scared, and allowing yourself to feel seen on your terms. Reliving childhood memories can sometimes trigger these fears, but through healing exercises that focus on nurturing the inner child, you create new, compassionate patterns. Books and resources on inner child healing offer valuable insights and exercises to help guide this journey. Remember, the light you seek does not come from perfection but from presence and self-acceptance. If you find yourself struggling with fear of success or fear of being yourself, know that you’re not alone. Healing is a gradual process and sharing your story can create connection and support. Embrace your fear as a signal that healing work is unfolding, and practice gentle resets whenever needed to restore calm within. Each moment of truth you choose to face is a step toward reclaiming your power and freedom.

How do we heal our inner child?
Your inner child doesn’t need to be “fixed.” They long to be heard, protected, and loved, especially in the ways they didn’t receive growing up. Reparenting is the gentle, ongoing practice of becoming the adult your inner child needed. It’s how we offer ourselves safety, compassion, and new way
