What does self love mean to you? Read below
Self love can fall into so many categories. You first have to know who you are in order to even give yourself the time and attention you deserve.
But none of us really know who we are, we are constantly changing and growing… sometimes even going back to a version of ourselves that we don’t like. What we have to understand is that even though we don’t like a certain version of ourselves it does nothing but hurt us to make our “old” self feel like we could be better.
We will to be better, and we are better… we have been doing better.
Self love starts with your ‘self’ with your identity, and with all the identifies and emotions and stories that make you the person you are at this moment. I know it’s hard to recognize the truth and the difference between then and now, but it only hurts to look back and regret something you’ve done. You can’t go back, you can’t turn a clock, you can’t make people forget but what you can do is forgive yourself and move forward. Thank the past for the future, growth doesn’t happen without slip ups. Frankly if you’ve gone this far without doubting yourself or making a mistake then you are not growing, you are coping.
Our mistakes should be seen as something that creates our will for optimism and not as a result of our lack of will, knowledge, or understanding.
You’ve got this, and in order for self love to happen you have to love every version of yourself.
Self-love is a profound concept that varies for everyone. It's not just about self-care or pampering but understanding and accepting who you are at your core. This involves recognizing the different phases of your life, including those aspects you might wish to change. Instead of focusing on past mistakes with regret, see them as lessons that contribute to your personal growth. Embracing every version of yourself empowers you to move forward, cultivate optimism, and foster resilience. To truly love yourself requires introspection. Engage in practices that allow you to explore your identity deeper, whether through journaling, meditation, or discussions with trusted friends. These avenues help uncover your authentic self, enabling you to appreciate the journey you've undertaken. Consider adopting affirmations that resonate with your development. Phrases like 'I am enough' or 'I am worthy of love' can redirect your thoughts to a more positive mindset, reinforcing your dedication to self-love. Remember, self-love is not a destination but rather an ongoing journey filled with self-discovery, compassion, and acceptance. Embrace changes as they come, knowing that every experience shapes you into a more authentic individual.
