Choose yourself before others

For so long, I chose everyone else before myself. I stayed quiet, I endured, and I gave love even when I was empty. I smiled when my heart was tired, and I stayed strong when I was breaking inside. I thought loving others more would make me enough.

But one day, I realized how lonely it feels to forget yourself.

So now, with a heavy heart but clear mind, I choose myself. Not out of anger, not out of pride, but out of survival. I choose my peace, my healing, and the little pieces of me I lost while trying to make everyone else happy.

This choice is painful, but necessary. Choosing myself is the bravest thing I have ever done.🙏💖

... Read moreFor years, I found myself caught in the exhausting cycle of putting everyone else's needs before my own. At first, I believed this selflessness was a virtue, a way to love unconditionally and to be appreciated. However, that path led to an emptiness I couldn't ignore. The phrase "SUBIS BA" on an image I once saw reminded me vaguely of personal admission—it made me reflect on how much I had been suppressing my true feelings. Only after hitting a breaking point did I realize the importance of self-prioritization. Choosing yourself isn't selfish; it's essential for your mental and emotional well-being. When you ignore your needs, you risk burnout and loss of identity. In my experience, consciously deciding to focus on my healing and peace allowed me to reconnect with the 'little pieces' of myself I had lost over time. This process involved setting boundaries, learning to say no, and understanding that my happiness is as important as that of others. It wasn't an easy decision—the pain of changing old patterns and possibly disappointing people was real. But the freedom and strength that came from choosing myself have been life-changing. If you find yourself constantly giving and emptying your well, consider that choosing yourself first can be the bravest and most necessary act of love you can offer—not just to yourself but ultimately to those around you as well. It's a survival strategy that leads to deeper resilience, authentic connections, and a more fulfilled life.

Life doesn’t change until you choose yourself.
Waiting may feel gentle, but it’s still a choice. The moment you decide to step forward, you move from hoping… to owning your direction. Then comes the Chance. The quiet courage to try, even when outcomes aren’t guaranteed. That small step matters more than you think. And then — Change. Not
