Can't attack my Facts!!!
When they tell the story of the ending they caused and how you reacted to make themselves look like a victim, But I bet they won't tell the story from the beginning of those 8 years where you were so loving, caring, attentive, supportive, when you accepted every promise and lie , every "I'm sorry" when they cheated time and time and time and time again. They will never have the nerve to say why you changed why and what they really did to make you step back and become silent & distant. They will never speak in the abuse and the cheating still at the end and why you left them. Nope they will never tell the REAL story, only the pieces that serve their new lies to the next one. But remember there's your little version there is mine and then there's the receipts and facts that have been collected!!
From personal experience, surviving an abusive relationship is one of the toughest battles anyone can face, especially when it spans many years. Often, outsiders only hear fragments of the story, usually shaped by the manipulator to appear as the victim. What isn't told are the long periods of devotion and hope, the repeated betrayals, and the gradual emotional distance that forms as a defense mechanism. It's essential to recognize how repeated cheatings, lies, and gaslighting can break down one's trust and silence their voice. When faced with constant abuse and infidelity, many choose to suffer in silence, fearing judgment or not being believed. Yet, collecting those 'receipts and facts' as proof of reality becomes a powerful step towards healing and reclaiming one's narrative. I’ve learned that while forgiving is part of some healing journeys, accepting empty apologies without change only opens the door to more pain. Choosing to walk away, prioritizing self-love and mental peace, marks a significant turning point. It empowers us to rise again, stronger and wiser, turning painful lessons into life-long wisdom. For those enduring similar experiences, remember: you are not alone, and no one's version of the story should overshadow your truth. Keeping your truth alive through facts and personal strength helps you heal and encourages others to break free from toxic cycles. You can't attack the facts when they represent your courage and survival.
