Tattoo Care Routine and Explanation

Let’s face it, i’m addicted. I already have 4 more drawn up🫠

Step 1: plz wait 24 hrs before taking the second skin off🥲

Step 2: As soon as you take the second skin off, run tattoo under cold or luke warm water.

Step 3: get any unscented soap (i obviously love Dove) but scrub your tattoo very gently until you get a good lather

Step 4: rinse soap off

Step 5: PAT dry your tattoo. I use disposable towels, but any clean towel will work

Step 6: put any unscented lotion on it. I prefer @Mad Rabbit repair gel. It’s soothing and not sticky like aquafor.

Step 7: apply gel/lotion as needed throughout the day

Repeat these steps daily until tattoo is completely healed and no longer peeling. I honestly still wash mine every now and then and apply the repair gel even though some are a couple years old.

Always start by gently washing your tattoo after removing the protective second skin. Using lukewarm water is ideal to avoid any irritation. Follow up with a gentle, unscented soap, like Dove, to cleanse the area without introducing harsh chemicals. After cleaning, pat dry with a clean towel, preferably disposable to avoid unwanted bacteria. Applying a soothing lotion or gel is essential; products like Mad Rabbit's tattoo aftercare repair gel are popular due to their effective and non-sticky formula. Regularly moisturize to keep the skin hydrated, which will minimize itching and peeling. As your tattoo heals, continue to apply moisturizer even after the initial healing phase. This will keep your skin healthy and your tattoo looking vibrant for years to come.
