Introduction: The Page as a Vessel
Beginning in 2024, I picked up colored pencils and something broke open. It was an itch that needed to be scratched—pages upon pages of imagery and colors that gave a voice to parts of me that don’t communicate with language.
I realized I was using the page as a vessel. I was taking things out of my soul that were tormenting me and placing them outside of myself so they had a place to live instead of staying inside me.
It started with studies of the eyes—witnessing. Then it moved into raw, elemental intensity. I always remembered the names, the places, and the timeline, but the art was doing something else. It was retrieving the weight of it all.
I drew trees for months before I realized the "shady" nature of what I was scratching onto the paper was actually a specific energy signature. A currency of a moment I was finally ready to look at.
