Hey squishy lovers! Ever wanted to dive into the world of DIY paper squishies? It's one of my favorite ways to unleash creativity, and honestly, it's super relaxing. While store-bought squishies are cool, there's nothing quite like the satisfaction of creating your very own, especially one that has that perfect, satisfying *squish*! If you're searching for that ideal soft, slow-rising feel, often called a 'lalachill' squishy by enthusiasts, you've come to the right place for tips on how to achieve it with paper. Making a PAPER SQUISHY like my Sour Patch Kids inspired creation is surprisingly simple, but a few tricks can elevate your craft from just 'okay' to 'OMG, I made this?!' First off, let's talk about the 'squish' factor. The magic truly happens with the stuffing. For that super soft, slow-rising sensation that defines a great squishy, I swear by poly-fill fiber (the kind you use for pillows). It's light, fluffy, and compresses beautifully. If you don't have poly-fill, don't worry! Cut-up pieces of soft foam or even clean, thin plastic bags bunched up can work wonders. Experiment to find your perfect squish level; more stuffing usually means a firmer, slower rise. Next, the paper itself. While regular printer paper is a great start, a slightly thicker cardstock or even laminating your design before cutting and taping can give your squishy more durability and a smoother feel. Once your design (like our fun Sour Patch Kids friend) is drawn, colored, and cut out, it's all about the taping. Clear packing tape is your best friend here. Make sure to tape all edges securely, leaving a small opening to stuff. Once stuffed, seal that last edge tight! The goal is to trap air inside along with your stuffing, which contributes significantly to that satisfying squishy bounce. Remember the OCR message: DON'T EAT THIS IT'S A PAPER SQUISHY! It might look delicious, but these are for squeezing, not munching! This reminder is especially important when crafting food-themed squishies. Beyond the Sour Patch Kids design, the possibilities for paper squishies are endless. Think about your favorite snacks, cute animals, emojis, or even personalized messages. Each one is a chance to practice your artistic skills and create something truly unique. Crafting these can be a fantastic way to de-stress, improve fine motor skills, and express yourself. So grab your supplies, get creative, and enjoy the process of making your next perfectly squishy masterpiece!
