St. Louis

... Read moreOkay, so after my St. Louis road trip, I just had to spill all the tea on why this city is a total gem, especially if you're a young explorer like me! When I was planning, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but wow, St. Louis totally blew me away. It's got this amazing mix of history, cool art, and just genuinely fun vibes without breaking the bank. First off, the Gateway Arch is a non-negotiable. Seriously, pictures don't do it justice! Getting up there for those panoramic skyline views was breathtaking, and if you can time it for sunset, you're in for an absolute treat. My tip? Book your tickets online in advance, especially on weekends, to avoid the long waits. It’s super iconic and makes for incredible Instagram shots. Then there's the City Museum. Oh my goodness, this place is like a giant playground for all ages, but as a young adult, I felt like a kid again! It's not your typical museum – think slides, tunnels, climbing structures, and even a suspended school bus (yes, I saw the one from ROXANA COMMUNITY UNIT DISTRICT 1! So cool!). Wear comfy clothes and be prepared to explore for hours. It’s quirky, unique, and definitely provides some unforgettable moments and hilarious photo ops. Beyond the big two, I also loved just wandering around. The area near the Old Courthouse is beautiful, and there are so many cute spots to grab a coffee or a quick, affordable bite. For anyone looking to save a few bucks, I found that packing some snacks and water for my daily adventures really helped. Also, many of the museums (like the St. Louis Art Museum and Missouri History Museum) offer free admission, which is a huge bonus! St. Louis has such a vibrant atmosphere, from its historic streets to its modern architecture visible in the skyline views. And let's talk food! St. Louis has some seriously good eats. If you're on a budget, definitely check out the local diners or grab a famous St. Louis-style pizza (it’s unique, trust me!). I also stumbled upon some amazing ice cream parlors that were perfect for a hot afternoon. Exploring the different neighborhoods felt like uncovering hidden gems, each with its own character. This trip wasn't just about seeing landmarks; it was about soaking in the vibe of a new city, and St. Louis delivered in spades. Safety is always on my mind when traveling, and St. Louis felt generally safe, especially in the main tourist areas. Like any big city, it's smart to be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. I usually shared my itinerary with a friend and stuck to well-lit, populated areas. Overall, my St. Louis adventure was packed with so many amazing experiences and I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for an exciting and budget-friendly trip. It’s truly a city with something for everyone, and I loved capturing all my memories in my Instagram photo dump! Definitely add it to your travel bucket list!
