KKH delivery and bill🤰🏻✨

I was with KKH as a subsidised patient (polyclinic referral route), delivered in KKH and opted to stay in class A1 ward.

I had a pretty good experience with the subsidised route, no complaints and would choose the same route again should I have another child. Opted for the A1 ward during delivery because I wanted the privacy and my husband to stay with me.

I had my regular appointment on 29 Jan(39+3) morning, and planned for an induction on 1 Feb. Upon arranging for the induction, it will reflect in the HealthBuddy app under admissions and you will be able to see the estimated bill and the option to choose the ward you would like(pic 2) Payment for the bill can be done at this moment, any excess payment will be refunded to you upon the release of the final bill. I received my refund via paynow.

My baby was pretty eager to see the world and did not wait till the planned induction day, my contractions started on the night of 29th, and I admitted myself wee hours of 30th. Baby was safely delivered on 30th Jan!

Food in the ward is decent, the nurses will come to you prior to the meal for you to choose what you want to eat from their menu. Menu is not super extensive, but there are several options of confinement food, western food and other varieties, pretty decent I would say.

The care provided by the team was amazing, the nurses were very responsive whenever the call button was pressed. Babies can be left with the nurses at the nursery during the night and you can opt for them to bring the baby to you every 3h for latching. Nurses will bring the baby back to your ward around 6/7 am.

Hope this helped to provide some insights on the admission and delivery!

... Read moreFrom personal experience, choosing to deliver at KKH via the subsidised polyclinic referral route proved to be a practical and affordable choice without compromising care quality. One key advantage was the transparency of billing through the HealthBuddy app, which allowed me to view estimated costs and select ward preferences conveniently ahead of time. This digital approach simplified payments and refunds, enhancing peace of mind during an otherwise hectic period. Opting for the Class A1 ward was well worth the additional cost, especially for privacy and to have my husband by my side comfortably. The ward's amenities, including an air-conditioned single room, attached bathroom, and convenient facilities like TV and mini fridge, made the recovery period restful. The food service in the ward, though not extensive, offered a thoughtful mix of confinement and western meals, accommodating different tastes. Nurses were incredibly responsive, from promptly answering call buttons to assisting with newborn care. I found the nursery option overnight very helpful, giving me much-needed rest while still supporting breastfeeding through scheduled baby visits. Furthermore, the billing breakdown shared revealed common costs such as ward charges, treatment fees, specialized investigations, delivery fees, medication, and consumables. After subsidies and Medisave claims, the net payment was reasonable and manageable, reflecting the value of quality healthcare with financial support. Overall, KKH provides a reassuring blend of professional medical care, patient-centric services, and transparent billing systems. For expectant mothers considering KKH, understanding these details can help in making informed decisions, managing expectations, and preparing for a smooth delivery and postnatal experience.

KKH subsidised to private
1️⃣ Why KKH? I chose to go KKH for all my pregnancy checkups simply because it is the nearest hospital from my house. It takes only about 20-30min (depending on bus waiting time) from my doorstep to KKH, so it is very convenient. And of course, with KKH being a well-known women's and children&
