How Much I Paid at SGH? (Prenatal to Delivery)

📝 Some background

• Found out I was pregnant around week 10 (April 2025)

• Went to a polyclinic to get an SGH referral for subsidised rates

• Stayed on the subsidised route until week 32

• Switched to the private route at SGH from week 36 onwards

• Consultation fees varied depending on the doctor’s seniority

• Chose a B1 ward for delivery

• The biggest costs were the NIPT test and discharge bill

💰 Total cost overview

The total cost of my pregnancy up till the first post delivery follow-up consultation at SGH came up to ~$13.4k. This includes additional polyclinic checks for baby’s jaundice and monitoring.

⚠️ Side Notes:

My baby needed to stay in HDU for monitoring, so the baby’s bill may be slightly higher than babies who went straight to the nursery. I also had a natural birth without epidural, so the cost may be lower compared to a C-section or epidural delivery.

Hope this cost breakdown is helpful for mummies who are planning to deliver at SGH 💕🥰

KKH subsidised to private
1️⃣ Why KKH? I chose to go KKH for all my pregnancy checkups simply because it is the nearest hospital from my house. It takes only about 20-30min (depending on bus waiting time) from my doorstep to KKH, so it is very convenient. And of course, with KKH being a well-known women's and children&
