NEVER GETTING MARRIED REASON 21

Hey everyone! You might have seen my initial post, and I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why I'm choosing a different path when it comes to marriage. My original post mentioned 'Reason #21,' but honestly, the decision to never getting married is often a multifaceted one, not just a single point. For me, and I think for many others today, the traditional idea of getting married isn't the only definition of a fulfilling life. We're living in a time where personal freedom and self-discovery are highly valued. One of the biggest reasons I've personally found myself leaning towards not tying the knot, and what I believe is often Reason #21 for many, revolves around maintaining my individual identity and space. It's about having the autonomy to make choices purely for myself without the constant negotiation or compromise that often comes with a partnership as profound as marriage. This isn't to say compromise is bad, but for some of us, prioritizing an unencumbered personal journey is paramount, especially at certain stages of life. Beyond my own twenty-first reason, let's talk about some other common considerations. Many people today are finding incredible fulfillment in their careers or personal passions, and the idea of marriage can sometimes feel like a distraction or a constraint on those ambitions. Financial independence is another huge factor. Women, especially, are more financially secure than ever, removing the historical imperative of marriage for economic stability. We're building our own empires, paying our own bills, and frankly, some of us just don't see the financial benefits of merging lives and assets, especially when considering the potential complexities of divorce. Then there's the changing landscape of relationships itself. Many are embracing partnerships that don't fit the marital mold – long-term cohabiting, committed partnerships without legal ties, or even polyamorous relationships. The pressure to conform to a specific relationship structure is diminishing, allowing for more authentic and personalized connections. Some also look at the high divorce rates and wonder if the institution itself is outdated or simply not for them. They might have seen difficult marriages or divorces in their own families or among friends, leading to a natural apprehension about entering into one themselves. It's not about being anti-love or anti-commitment; it's about finding what works best for you without feeling obligated to follow societal norms. It’s about personal choice and crafting a life that truly aligns with your deepest desires, whether that includes getting married or not.
