He is soooo rude
Oh my gosh, I totally get this feeling! Thereโs nothing quite like the little pang of disappointment when youโve just gone through your story or checked your recent post, and you see that everyone but your boyfriend has liked it. Or worse, heโs seen it, but offered no reaction at all. You put effort into that picture, that moment, that update, and when your bf didn't like your post, it can feel like a mini-rejection. Iโve definitely been there, scrolling endlessly and wondering, 'Is he mad at me? Did he even see it? Is he being intentionally rude?' Itโs so easy to spiral into overthinking. We invest so much into our online presence, and when our partner, who we expect to be our biggest fan, doesn't engage, it can make you question everything. But before you jump to conclusions or confront him, let's take a breath and think about a few possibilities. First, consider that he might genuinely not have seen it. Social media algorithms are wild, and sometimes posts get buried. Or maybe he just quickly scrolled past while busy. Not everyone checks their feed with the same eagle eye we might. He might have been driving, in a meeting, or simply having a digital detox moment. Second, not everyone expresses affection or support through 'likes' and comments. Some people are just not very active on social media, even if they have accounts. My friend's boyfriend rarely likes anything anyone posts, but he's super supportive in real life. It's just not his digital language. For others, maybe they saw it and thought it was nice, but didnโt feel the need to click the heart button. It doesn't necessarily mean he dislikes the content or *you*. Third, could it be the type of content? Sometimes, when I post about something super niche like my baking experiments (think a perfect sourdough crumb shot!), my partner might appreciate the effort but not necessarily feel compelled to 'like' it in the same way he would a picture of us together. It doesn't mean he doesn't care about my hobbies, just that the online interaction isn't his priority for *that specific post*. If this is a recurring pattern and it truly bothers you, the best thing to do is communicate. Not in an accusing way, but genuinely curious. Next time youโre casually chatting, you could say something like, "Hey, did you see that story I posted about my Las Vegas trip/baking? What did you think?" This opens the door for him to explain or even realize he missed it. It also gives you a chance to express why it's important to you. Maybe he doesn't realize that a simple like means a lot to you. Ultimately, while online validation feels good, what truly matters is the connection you share offline. Is he supportive in person? Does he listen to your stories, cheer you on, and make you feel loved when you're together? If the answer is yes, then a missed 'like' on social media might just be a minor blip. Try not to let digital interactions overshadow the real, tangible love and support in your relationship. Itโs okay to feel a little bummed, but remember, his love isn't measured by his double-taps.
