Culture isn’t built by policies.

It’s built by people.

Every high-performing team I’ve ever been part of had a mix of these:

🐶 The loyal teammate

🧠 The strategic thinker

🐝 The high-work-ethic producer

🦒 The visionary

🐧 The ultimate team player

The question isn’t “Which one are you?”

The real question is:

👉 Which one do you need to become for your team right now?

Great dealerships.

Great companies.

Great organizations.

They win because they have the right animals in the room.

Build the culture → and the results will follow.

Which one represents YOU?

... Read moreFrom my experience working in various teams, I found that authentic culture truly thrives when each member embraces a unique role that complements the team dynamic. The idea of representing an animal archetype—like the loyal dog, strategic tiger, or visionary giraffe—resonates with me because it captures the diverse traits needed for success. For instance, playing the role of the 'loyal teammate' means being dependable and supportive, which fosters trust. Meanwhile, the 'high-work-ethic producer' pushes the team forward through relentless diligence and resilience. What’s powerful is realizing that these roles aren't fixed; team members must adapt and sometimes step into different roles depending on the moment and team needs. In sales environments, especially automotive dealerships, I noticed that culture peaks when the 'communicator dolphin' leads clear dialogue, and the 'patient listener sloth' ensures every voice is heard. These behaviors promote collaboration and innovation, leading to better results. Implementing policies alone won't build culture because culture is lived by people every day through their behaviors, attitudes, and willingness to support one another. Encouraging team members to self-reflect on which 'animal' best fits the current team challenges can help shape personal growth and collective success. In practice, actively emulating these traits has improved not only team morale but also sales performance. When leaders and team members embody these roles intentionally, the culture transforms into one of mutual respect, motivation, and strategic focus—ultimately driving the organization’s results forward.
