How to diffuse your curls 🌸
Diffusing your curls will help to speed up your drying time and lock your curls in place for the week.
I use the TYMO airhype diffuser on medium heat for 20-30 minutes.
Make sure to flip your head around and hover the diffuser over your curls, this will help your hair to have definition, movement and volume.
From my experience with diffusing curls, using a good quality diffuser like the TYMO airhype has made a huge difference in achieving soft, defined curls without frizz. One additional tip is to always start with wet or damp hair that has been properly moisturized with curl cream or leave-in conditioner to help set your curls before diffusing. When diffusing, avoid touching your curls too much with your hands as this can cause frizz and disrupt your natural curl pattern. I find that flipping my head upside down and gently pressing the diffuser into sections of curls really boosts volume at the roots. Alternating this with holding the diffuser to the sides of your head can help shape your curls with more movement and prevent flatness. Medium heat is ideal to prevent heat damage, and I usually set a timer for around 25 minutes so I don’t over-dry my hair. After diffusing, finishing with a light spritz of hair spray or curl refresher spray can help lock in the style for the day. Also, I recommend regularly cleaning your diffuser to avoid build-up that could affect airflow and drying efficiency. For those with type 4c curls like mine, diffusing is a game changer to speed up drying while enhancing curl structure, making your curls look bouncy and healthy. Overall, patience and gentle technique are key to great results when diffusing curls.
