Exploring Sedona, AZ
Oh my goodness, if you're planning a trip to Sedona, Arizona, you're in for an absolute treat! I just got back from exploring those magical red rocks, and I have to share some of my favorite things to do. Trust me, this place is even more stunning in person than in pictures! First up, hiking is an absolute must. You can't go to Sedona without hitting the trails. My top recommendation for a challenging but super rewarding hike is Devil's Bridge. Get there early to beat the crowds and the heat, and wear sturdy shoes! The views from the top are just incredible, perfect for those Instagram-worthy shots. Another favorite of mine was the Cathedral Rock Trail – it’s a bit steep, but the energy at the top is something else. Many say it's a powerful vortex site, and whether you believe in that or not, the panoramic views are undeniably spiritual. For something a little easier with equally stunning scenery, try the Bell Rock Pathway, which is great for all skill levels and offers fantastic opportunities for photography. Beyond hiking, don't miss a scenic drive along the Red Rock Scenic Byway (Highway 179). Pull over at the various viewpoints; each one offers a different perspective of the majestic landscape. I spent hours just soaking it all in! If you're into photography, golden hour (sunrise or sunset) transforms the red rocks into a fiery spectacle – it's truly breathtaking and a must-capture moment. For a unique experience, consider exploring one of Sedona's famous energy vortexes. Airport Mesa is easily accessible and offers incredible sunset views, making it a popular spot. You can feel a distinct presence there, and it’s a great place for meditation or just quietly observing the beauty around you. When it comes to food, Sedona has some fantastic spots. I loved grabbing a casual bite with a view at a place like Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, but there are also many cozy cafes and healthy eateries perfect for refueling after a hike. Don't forget to visit Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village for some unique local art and souvenirs – it’s a beautiful place to wander around, even if you’re just window shopping. My biggest tip for anyone visiting Sedona is to stay hydrated, especially if you're hiking, and always carry a hat and sunscreen. The sun can be intense! Also, plan your activities around the cooler parts of the day if you're going during summer. Sedona is a truly special place, and exploring its natural beauty and vibrant town was an adventure I'll never forget. I hope these tips help you plan your own incredible trip!
