Would you call her out or just let it go?
I got married last month after a 22-month engagement it was everything my husband and I dreamed of. We spent so much time picking every little detail to make it ours.
Now my sister’s planning her own wedding for next year… and it’s starting to look like a copy-paste of mine. She booked the same photographer, officiant, violinist, even the same videographer — without even seeing his work first. She’s using my decor, got her dress from the same boutique, and is literally recreating our Polaroid guest book idea and scrapbook table setup.
At first, I thought it was sweet that she liked my taste. But now it just feels… weird. Like my wedding isn’t special anymore. I get that no one owns wedding ideas, but it stings knowing she didn’t even try to make it her own.
Would you talk to her about it, or just let it go and accept that imitation is “flattery”?

Girl, you are totally within your right to feel unsettled by your sisters wedding idea. It absolutely sounds like a copy, rather than her drawing inspiration. While the things like videographer/photographer, violinist (unless violin is something you/your partner specifically chose with no shared interest w/ sister), and even Polaroid idea are understandable. However, your officiant (unless a VERY CLOSE family member/friend), decor, and even the dress are really hard to understand. If I was you, I would voice my opinion in way that doesn’t seem like you’re “jealous or upset” but rather “trick” her into thinking different ideas are “better”. If you come to her as “oh wow, I really liked *insert thing* , but I wished we could’ve been able to do *alternative* instead! It was so cute!!” If she’s resistant to these ideas, try to ask her thoughts on why these specific things are important to her?
