"I don't like this ward. What should I do?" 💭
💉, what should be done when working in a "not-so-good" or "disliked" ward?
For younger nursing students
This is normal. ❤️
Interns in wards where we're not good at it may feel tired, unconfident, or want to run away.
But I'd say... it was only temporary.
Be patient. Harvest as much experience as possible.
Because everything we've learned - even in dislikes - will definitely become an "important lesson" in the future. 🌱
👩🏻⚕️ for "freshman nurse."
This is understandably the hardest, because some places to draw lots, some allotted.
Or somewhere open, but finally... not in the ward you want to be in. 😅
If you find that, I want you to start with
1. Open your heart to try first
Sometimes we think "don't like" from the internship.
But when you do it, you might find another different angle.
Open up the world, learn new things that unconsciously become "good work."
2. Intend to learn fully before making a decision
Try for a while. Don't rush to shut up.
But if you do it fully, "I can't."
Talk to the supervisor or the executive with respect.
Some may not move immediately, but there will be an assessment period or an opportunity to change later.
3. If already informed, no change
Ask yourself, "Can we continue to be patient?"
If not, really, and no capital commitments.
Look for a new place that suits us better.
But if you're funded, talk to the hospital you want to see.
Some are willing to "take over" from the original hospital.
💬 important things to leave
No one always gets everything right.
Sometimes we have to "tolerate the like" for some better results in the future.
And many times, "What's not like today?"
It turns out to be a "precious experience" that makes us stronger next day. 💪🏻
Open up, learn and use every moment as our own teacher. 🩺
