🩺 Manual blood pressure measurement at HBPM home
🩺 Manual blood pressure measurement at home.
(Home Blood Pressure Monitoring: HBPM)
Self-measuring blood pressure at home is an important tool that allows you and your doctor to see a clearer picture of heart health than an occasional examination at the hospital.
❓ Why is it important to measure pressure at home?
✅ Reduce "hypertension when seeing a doctor" (White Coat Hypertension)
Many people are concerned when they see a doctor, making the pressure higher than it is.
Home measurements in relaxed conditions therefore yield more accurate results.
✅ Track treatment effectiveness.
Help assess whether the drug is used or behavioral adjustments.
Like diet and exercise, how well it works
✅ "Hidden Hypertension" was detected.
Some measure at regular hospitals, but at home back high.
Consistent measurements allow the malfunction to be found quickly.
✅ Prevent complications
Controlling the pressure to the right threshold.
It greatly reduces cardiovascular risk.
🧭 How to measure pressure at home accurately
Key Principles: Prepare - Pose - Save
1️⃣ Prepare before the temple.
• 🪑 Stay at least 5 minutes
• ☕ No tea, coffee, smoking and exercise for at least 30 minutes
• 🚻 urinate well before the temple.
2️⃣ The correct posture.
• Sit behind the back of the chair, your feet lie flat on the floor (❌ not cross the mall)
• Put your arms on the table. The cuffs are on the same level as the heart.
• During the temple, abstain from talking, abstain from playing on the phone
3️⃣ Frequency of measurement
• 📅 measure twice a day.
• 🌅 Morning: After waking up within 1 hour and after urinating
• 🌙 Evening: Bedtime
• ⏱️ each time measured 2 cycles (1-2 minutes apart)
👉 use the average as a record.
📊 Criteria for localization of blood pressure effect (for home measurement)
Pressure level Upper body pressure (mmHg) Lower body pressure (mmHg)
Normally < 120 and < 80
Relatively high 120-129 and < 80.
High Pressure Level 1 130-139 or 80-89
High pressure. Level 2. ± 140 or ± 90.
⚠️ Important warning
If measured ≥ 180 / 120 mmHg even once
Take a five-minute break and measure again. If still high, see a doctor immediately.
💡 More tips.
• ✔️ using the Upper Arm Monitor is more accurate than the wrist.
• ✔️ Choose the right size cuff (1-2 inch insertion)
• ✔️ consistently write down the measured value to be evaluated by the doctor.
