Okay, so you've heard about Southern Hill Farms, but let me tell you, it's even better than you imagine! I absolutely loved my visit there. Imagine walking through rows of vibrant blueberry and peach bushes, picking your own fresh fruit to take home – blueberries are usually ready from March through May! It's such a hands-on, joyful experience, and peaches are also available for picking, often for around $4 a pound. The farm offers free entry, so you only pay for the delicious produce you pick, making it a super affordable and memorable day out. And the treats? Oh my goodness! They have a gluten-free blueberry and peach crumble that's out of this world, plus refreshing frozen blueberry lemonade that’s perfect for a warm Florida day. Don't even get me started on the cinnamon roll with blueberry cream cheese frosting – pure bliss! Beyond the edibles, you can also pick pretty zinnias for just $1 a stem, adding a lovely touch to your home. Southern Hill Farms is definitely a must-do for anyone looking for authentic Florida charm away from the crowds and a unique, fun activity in Orlando. But Orlando has so much more to offer beyond the theme parks and even beyond this fantastic farm! If you're like me and always looking for unique experiences, there are tons of options whether you're with family, friends, or even looking for a fun team-building activity. For outdoor enthusiasts, exploring the Wekiwa Springs State Park for kayaking or paddleboarding, or taking an airboat ride through the Everglades for some thrilling wildlife spotting, are incredible ways to experience Florida's natural beauty. These are perfect for teens and adults alike, and make for fantastic day trips from Orlando, offering a different kind of entertainment. If you're into something a bit more cultural, check out the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, home to the world's most comprehensive collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany works. Or, stroll through the charming streets of Winter Park itself, with its boutique shops and beautiful parks. For a quirky twist, there's always the ICON Park on International Drive, offering the Orlando Eye observation wheel, Madame Tussauds, and Sea Life Aquarium – great entertainment for adults and families without being a full-blown theme park. And let's not forget the foodie scene! Orlando has an incredible array of local eateries and unique dining experiences. Explore the diverse restaurants in the Mills 50 district or discover hidden cafes in Thornton Park. These spots offer a taste of local Orlando that you won't find on tourist brochures. You can also find farmers' markets (like the Winter Park Farmers' Market) for fresh local produce and artisan goods, similar to the fresh picks at Southern Hill Farms. So next time you're in Orlando and thinking beyond the mouse, remember, there's a whole world of adventure, relaxation, and delicious discoveries waiting for you!

Another great place in Orlando that is simmaler but has more activities for kids and adults is amber brookes farm they have strawberry’s, sunflower picking and a new addition coming, peaches, they have a big slide to slide down and even a bow and arrow arena (u need to pay for this), even tho this farm has I think a 10-20 dollar fee entree , it’s still I great experience
