OK Y’ALL!

So I’ve had the new @bearfootshoes Ursus Gen 2’s for a couple weeks now & I love them! I love that they are still flat but have a thicker sole compared to the Gen 1’s (without sacrificing the ability to stay grounded).

Bearfoot is all I lift in (unless I’m squatting, I need heels for that) but I’m also excited to try these out for more day to day stuff like while I shoot comps 📸

If y’all are thinking of ordering… definitely do it! (Use my code : NINJAMRN so you save some). Especially my strongman friends, I think these will be even more versatile & a better fit compared to the Gen 1’s.

They come in high tops (in black & white) & low tops (just black) as of right now. I’m a high top (suede over canvas) gal myself 🐻🐾

Anywayyyy happy Thursday y’all! 🤘🏽💪🏽

... Read moreHey everyone! So you saw my initial thoughts on the Bearfoot Ursus Gen 2s, and I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why these shoes have become a staple in my gym bag and beyond. When I first got into lifting, I struggled to find shoes that truly supported my form without feeling clunky or sacrificing that crucial 'grounded' feel. That's where Bearfoot Shoes came in, and the new Ursus Gen 2s really hit the mark. The biggest game-changer for me with the Gen 2s, compared to the original Ursus, is definitely that thicker sole. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Gen 1s, but sometimes on heavier lifts or longer sessions, I'd feel a bit more pressure on my feet. The Gen 2s provide just that extra layer of cushioning and support without compromising the flat, zero-drop design that's so important for proper biomechanics in squats and deadlifts. It’s still incredibly stable, but now I feel like I could walk around in them all day, which is a huge plus for someone like me who's always running between the gym and other errands. For my strongman friends, listen up! These are a serious upgrade. The enhanced sole means better shock absorption during carries or dynamic movements, while the high-top design, especially in the sleek black high-top shoes with laces I got (they also come in white high-tops!), offers excellent ankle support. I've been using them for everything from log presses to yoke walks, and the stability is unmatched. And for powerlifting? They're still my absolute go-to. That flat base ensures maximum power transfer from the ground up, letting you feel every ounce of pressure through your heels. I used to switch to specific weightlifting shoes with heels for squats, but honestly, with the Gen 2's added comfort, I find myself reaching for these more often even for squats, when I want that raw, grounded feel. Let's talk about the build. The suede-like material on my dark high-top footwear feels premium and has held up perfectly to gym grime and sweat. They look stylish too, which is a bonus when you're wearing them from the gym to daily life. Sizing-wise, I found them to be true to size. I typically wear a specific shoe size, and these fit perfectly. If you're on the fence, I'd recommend sticking with your usual athletic shoe size. What truly sets Bearfoot apart is the concept of 'grounding'. In the Gen 2s, this hasn't changed. You still get that incredible proprioceptive feedback, allowing your feet to feel the ground and engage more muscles. It's like being barefoot, but with protection and grip. This translates to better balance, stronger lifts, and overall improved foot health. If you're looking to elevate your performance, protect your feet, and get a shoe that’s genuinely versatile, the Bearfoot Ursus Gen 2s are a game-changer. Don't forget that code NINJAMRN at checkout to save some cash and experience the difference yourself!

one of my main goals for this year was to read more books, but a couple months went by and I didn't read at all! I knew I needed to get out of this slump... so I decided to take advantage of my weird obsession with journaling and documenting things and I started my very own reading journal!
